שְׁטָר, שְׁטַרm. (v. שָׁטַר) writ, document. Kidd.I, 1 a woman may be acquired as wife בכסף בש׳וכ׳ by handing her money (or moneys worth), by a writ (handing her a paper on which is written, ‘thou art betrothed unto me) Ib. 2 a slave is acquired בש׳ by a document (bill of sale).
